Baptism

What is the purpose of baptism?

Baptism is an opportunity to publicly display your faith, what God has already done in your heart. He draws us towards Him and we make the change to be His disciples.

Why do we immerse people in water?

The word “baptism” literally means to immerse. It best represents putting away ones old life, how we used to be, and coming up alive in Christ.

Why should I be baptized?

Why not? For those who have understood and embraced the gospel, it is an opportunity to express what God has done in your heart, to imitate His example (Luke 3:21), and to witness to others that you are a believer in Christ (Acts 2:41).

Is baptism required for salvation?

No. We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, and salvation is a gift from God that cannot be earned by our works. Baptism is an act of obedience to Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5).

How do I get baptized?

The easiest of which is to fill out this form, or talk to a ministry team leader or one of the pastors at church.

If you would like to speak to a pastor call the church office at 207-942-9977 or email us.
